Create Whimsical Palm Trees {FREE EBOOK}

Published by barbaraburns under Free ebooks

I started documenting this project last week but did not get it finished until today. I have been creating whimsical palm trees for several years now. They are very simple to create … anyone can do it with pencil and paper … why create a project sheet for them?

My reason is simple … people tell me all the time that they just could not do it. I think the problem is that people see a completed painting and not the steps to create it. Your whimsical palm trees will never be identical to mine … they may be much better or they may be more fluid or perhaps thinner lines or maybe you will be hired to even paint yours as murals on freeway overpasses … the goal is to enjoy something tropical in a variety of color that makes you and others smile.

Many of mine are painted on greeting cards and envelopes … I use the cards to write letters to friends and family. I also create ATC [ARtist TraDing CArDS] to use as business cards with these adorable little ideas. These made me smile and thus they are now my personal biz card idea – I thought it was fate when I discovered a pkg of 100 sized perfectly for ATC’s at the art supply store last month … I can print my contact info labels on a laser printer and stick them on the back … fun and a neat idea for starting conversations too!

Seascapes & Whimsical Palm Trees

Published by barbaraburns under Inspirations

Yesterday and today, I created two seascapes with one whimsical palm tree per painting … both are going to be the “background image” for one of my seascape tea party graphics I have planned. I already have scanned a few of my faery mushroom ladies … I have a few flowers ready to insert … no tea cups, tea pots or Mad Hatter nor Cheshire Cat Grin yet … yeppers … as you can guess … Alice in Wonderland and that magical tea party are what is inspiring this series of faery tea party at the seaside.

I think I am probably about 2-3 weeks away from having everything I want for the first let alone the second in the Sea-side tea party at the beach with whimsical palm trees.

Maybe I will go work on a cheshire cat grin now … that sounds like a fun thing to do just before going to bed for the night! I gotta re-read the story … it has been YEARS since I read the book! I love my adorable drawing of The Red Queen’s Spy though as well as both the back ground images I have created so far! I had something else in mind until yesterday for the background and these just appeared on my paper. This is a really fun series to paint! I have no idea if I will be painting the entire Cheshire Cat or just it[’sgrin … the grin part is easy … it is the entire cat that might be way out of my capability! Time will tell … I make no promises … but it has always been the grin that inspired me to love that Cheshire Cat! but …. the tail is marvelous too … maybe I will have to find the tail swishing around at the beach!

I started my next free project ebook … made the images … now I need to write the steps that go with them and create the pdf … my goal is to do it by the end of this coming week-end … any time before then would be a bonus! Getting my hair cut tomorrow so not sure how much painting I will get done … but perhaps one little mushroom or palm tree will find it’s way onto my drawing table.
