I put the mermaid tails into a painting and named it Mermaid Games … Painting while trying to quit smoking … I would not suggest this as one of my better efforts … yet it is what I was seeing in my mind while thinking about not having painted mermaids like “all” the other artists … lol … no glamorous sexy girls with fish tails here … perhaps more like eels?

Perhaps all this oxygen getting to my brain since I quit smoking is playing havoc with my painting visions … or perhaps as usual, I have a vivid imagination that is a bit different from the rest of the world! The fishy tails are there for sure … but no gorgeous faces and long flowing dry hair in the water ;P

Bikini weather is around the corner here in the Houston Texas area. I remember when I was young and pretty with a good figure so I could wear a bikini – though NOTHING as similar to the ones available today – I was fully covered – today they have thong bikinis, crochet bikinis, striped bikinis to name just a few … and the models look as if they are wearing scrap fabric because there is so very little of it and they call it a swim suit. I look at them and wonder … does anyone wearing one of those really and truly actually swim in one of them? Or are they just wearing them to attract attention, walk along the beach and sunbathe?

I haven’t been to the beach during the summer recently … I need to go this summer down to the Gulf just so I can see the swim suits down there … the last time I went, the weather was not very warm so I do not remember seeing anyone swimming or sunbathing – though I think people were out wind-surfing … now wind surfing looks like it would be a lot of fun! Would I look completely ridiculous out trying to wind surf wearing a life jacket? I cannot swim … so I could not go into the water without a life jacket if I wanted to come back out of the water alive.

I still sunburn really easily – I was a natural redhead with a redhead’s fair skin so when young, sunbathing was not something I did – ten minutes could turn me into a lobster that felt like it had been boiled in oil … Aloe Vera lotions are the only thing that has ever provided any real relief to me when I get a sunburn.

The company is having their picnic this week-end so I am concerned as always about getting sunburned … my grandson is coming over tonite to spend the nite while Mommy & step-father go fishing … and he is going to the picnic tomorrow with Grandma! How exciting! I had to go back into my office to get my map so I wouldn’t get lost tomorrow.They are going to have barbeque and a crawfish boil – I do not plan to eat crawfish – they look .. disgusting is the only word I can think of for how they look to me … I’m not eating them … but I like barbeque.

I wonder if anyone will show up in a swim suit? It probably won’t be warm enough for that quite yet .. though this is Houston … it could be without any warning – maybe I should listen to the weather tonite to know whether to wear jeans or shorts tomorrow. They plan to play softball so people will probably wear jeans and or shorts … if it is cool … maybe I could wear my sweat pants? Miss Sugar (the dog) likes to get me up anywhere from 4 AM to 6 AM so I am usually tired to start out the day from not enough sleep a lot these days … she is a morning dog … I just wish she wasn’t up quite that early … 6 to 7 AM would more acceptable than 4 to 6 AM but generally, she likes 4 to 5 AM best … especially on week-ends when I do not have to get up to go to work!

If you haven’t gotten your bikini or several bikinis for this summer … here are some to look at – me – I’ll be getting a one piece that covers me very well thank you! I just do not have the figure to wear a bikini any more … but they have lots of really pretty bikini swim suits out there in the world …. enjoy the summer when it arrives and don’t get a sunburn!
