Inspirations: Angry Ocean 2 by John Kimball

Today’s featured art is Angry Ocean 2 by John Kimball

All seascapes are not sunny and peaceful … some are angry and full of destructive energy while being gloriously lovely and real … this photograph is one of them! This would make a great painting trying to capture the wind, blowing water and the beach stillness in total opposite contrast to the water. Try it .. show me how you did trying to paint the angry sea.

For those wondering why I am not very active here at the moment - I have not had time to paint much recently between my very demanding day job and several doctor appts. plus I have been diagnosed with Rheumatoid Arthritis - it is pretty active right now and it still needs to be reined in like an unruly school child … LOL … once it is … I expect to be much less exhausted and have the energy to again do more than collapse in my office chair once I get home from work.

I think this angry seascape resonated with me so much tonite because I am VERY angry with the RA trying to take over my life … and I refuse to allow that to happen … but I do rest much more since I am so very tired … more so than before … and the doctor said that is unfortunately a part of the RA … in time, this too shall pass or I will adjust and force it to heel on command :) I LIKE painting and it is a very important part of my life … I WILL find my concentration again :)

Inspiration: Fisher Boats at Rest by Elandria of Tenerife

Published by barbaraburns under Inspirations

I haven’t disappeared from the face of the earth ;P … but I have been a bit distracted in the real world. Why?

I am trying to quit smoking … again. I have not had even one in the month of March … I am taking it one moment at a time and not stressing over all the things that I am not accomplishing this month … I painted on the computer this week-end but it was not seascapes … perhaps some mermaid tails … but I haven’t put them in a painting yet … and after I step back away from them and they sit awhile .. I may not like them as is at all … we’ll see.

I found the Gallery of Elandria of Tenerife at Imagekind though and she paints gloriously alive and inspiring seascapes [as well as lovely other subjects too]. I love dusk, or twilight if you will, at the beach … this painting of moored boats reminds me of a fisherman’s cove, not a harbor … anchor the fishing fleet near the small village along the coast and swim ashore to the house just out of sight where a fish chowder supper is hot and steaming on the hearth waiting for the captain and crew.

Great art inspires stories and this one spun a mouth-watering tale of work, home and family for ordinary every day people. I can smell the chowder on the evening breeze! Smells yummy! I hope this painting inspires you to tell us a story in your painting!
