This lovely scene would be a marvelous idea for a painting - I think I would like evening with the sun setting behind the buildings and casting lovely shadows on the water or perhaps full night with lights in the windwos casting sparkling highlights on the waves.
All seascape paintings are not just big waves or ocean wave views. Marine art encompasses lots of other marine subjects like ships and harbors and docks … I’ve been to the docks in Galveston and they are busy lively places full of marvelous things to paint for those who have the skill, talent and desire to paint dockside paintings.

Seascapes and marine art are not only lovely ocean waves or harbors. Anyone who has been to the beach or ocean side knows that the air can be filled with seagulls.
The more there are .. the noisier it seems to be. This photograph is a great shot of them filling the sky and the soft pastel sky colors are a marvelous contrast to the dark gull shapes.
The standard white mat with black frame works quite well to focus attention on the flying seagulls.
I hope this photo inspires you in your next seagull seascape painting! This Fine Art Print would make a great gift too for bird collectors - I think there is a bird sanctuary on South Padre Island or somewhere close to it.
